About the journal

Radley News and predecessors

Radley News is published by Radley Parochial Church Council and contains news and events about the wider village as well as Radley Parish Church. The first edition was in January 1971. It is published monthly. There were three predecessor journals, all published monthly under church auspices but with wider village news too.  The timing and rationale of the changes is not clear.

  • Church Monthly, Radley Parish Magazine. The Club has editions from 1895 to 1900, which were a mixture of Radley church/village news and wider religious material which seems to have been provided to parishes on a national basis. The volumes held are bound together by year.
  • Radley Parish Magazine. The Club has editions from 1945 to 1956, with material now limited to Radley matters. The volumes held are bound together by six year period.
  • Radley News Supplement. The content and format was essentially the same as the early editions of Radley News. The last issue was in December 1970 and was numbered 143, which suggests that this series started in 1959.
